(let go of the ball Jimmy, it is mine now)
You can go back to saying that name with pride again very soon!

Announced March 24th:

Indiana Pacers chief executive Donnie Walsh will leave the team after this season and a source told ESPN late Monday that he will land with the New York Knicks.

Walsh is expected to sign a three-year, $15 million contract with New York at the end of this season to oversee their basketball operations division. The source did not know what would become of current Knicks president of basketball operations and head coach Isiah Thomas once Walsh joined the Knicks.

I know what will happen to Isiah Thomas:

He will be out of a job & Knicks fans can & will be proud of THEIR team once again

We will have a Basketball Legend running the Knicks.

Given Donnie’s Walsh’s history with Isiah Thomas, as a former coach with the Indiana Pacers, is there not at least a small chance Zeke will be retained as the head coach-only for this team next season?

Dolan needs to let Walsh clean house at the Knicks and I am sorry but the first thing that has to go is Isaih. He drove a once proud franchise into the ground. I am sorry but I was at the last championship game in 1973 as a kid and we need that kind of excitement back in the Garden and the first step is to kick Isiah out the door.

This is all well and good, but let’s all remember who really drove this proud franchise into the ground – Cablevision and the Dolan Family. Yes, former MSG President Dave Checketts deserves some blame, and Isiah is certainly the dumbest person ever to be given control of a premiere sports franchise, but I will continue to stay away until the team is sold. Don’t hate the player, the game, or even the coach, HATE THE OWNER. Oh, and thanks for taking away all my Voom HD channels since I have the audacity to use an HD Tivo instead of ‘renting’ one of your cablevision DVRs. And also thanks for not carrying the NFL Network, and that year of the YES Network we missed, and for bringing Eric Lindros to the Garden as well. Someday soon, Verizon trucks will appear in my neighborhood running fiber optic cables under my street and change my life forever, but until that day, my blood will continue to boil with hate for the Knicks, Rangers, and my own television.

    Jools,

Classic stuff … and a perfectly understandable perspective.

Without proper ownership in place a ‘pro sports’ franchise is doomed to fail.

    Fight the Power!
