“Multiple Rights” bands becoming brands??

As the labels scramble to keep their footing I find it hard to believe that many bands are going to sign these type of deals. With the recent events, e.g., Radiohead’s Rainbows, NIN cutting ties with Interscope and Madonn’a Live Nation deal there is a lot new concepts and ideas being tested. The music industry is in the midst of mass chaos and the labels are on the path to extinction. If they are able to embrace this New Digitial Renaissance and support and encourage the artists to try different methods (radiohead) they have a chance of surviving. If not, it will only be a matter of time before the labels become true dinosaurs.
